"Celtic" - A definition for the present day. A people and nation as an enthic group; who perceive themselves (def.) to be different from others and who have reason to Witness before an "other" as distinct from doing battle against an other. The purpose being The God given Gift of the perpetuation of the unique individual and national identity of that people as Destiny! Only in, and therefore as this gift is individual and national freedom assured in our present times.

The myth of an iron age "Celtic" British insular ancestry was invented by Whig interests as a political tactic in the eighteenth century which increasingly identifiied England as "other". The present day context in the Spiritual domain is that of Scotland, and Europe as "other".

The Picts and Scotti were two of the many indigenous peoples (tribes) of Alba. The historical Celtic myth however does not negate the fact of the present day Celt as defined above. This is confirmed by the text highlighted in red in the first line. The term "ethnic group" as distinct from a race or culture, is also defined above. The crucial difference being that only an ethnic group perceives the need to retain its God given identity.

Please use the hypertext links in blue in the following paragraph. The text in red is pivotal to an understanding of the present day Spiritual eclampsia about to be experienced in Europe.

In writings from Ireland, the name Cruthin, Cruthini, Cruthni, Cruithni or Cruithini (Modern Irish: Cruithne) was used to refer to the Picts AND to a group of people who lived alongside the Ulaid in eastern Ulster.[6] It is generally accepted that this is derived from *Qritani, which is the Goidelic/Q-Celtic version of the Britonnic/P-Celtic *Pritani.[7] From this came Britanni, the Roman name for those we now call the Britons.[6][7][8] It has been suggested that Cruthin was a name used to refer to all the Britons who were not conquered by the Romans; those who lived outside Roman Britannia, north of Hadrian's Wall.[8]

Another modern day myth is that of the "British Israelites" as the Biblical lost tribes of the historical Biblical state of Israel. The name "Israel" may also be taken to refer to our Lord Jesus Christ. In this context the Scottish 21st century Celt is the name of a peculiar people who are willing to die (not necessarily in the temporal) for The Lion of Judah as represented by the Lion Rampant in the true flag of the people of Scotland. See Current issue No. 12 regarding the Saltire which is associated with the worship of relics and thus with the worship of the dead above the living. This is in denial of the Resurrectionof Jesus Christ.

Hence our present daySpiritual need for the resurrection of Ninian's Church Spiritual regarding which the Church of Rome was and still is very much "other". Amen.

The country of Montenegro in the Balkans became a nation state by referendum in 2006. This country has much in common with Scotland. Please see Current issue No.12 section 6b. Montenegro held back the Ottoman Empire of the Muslim ideology single handed for five hundred years. The present day Orthodox Christian Church of Montenegro like the Church of Rome venerates, that is worships, Mary the mortal mother of the flesh of Jesus The Christ. The only intercessor for humanity in our times is He who died for humanity! All else is denial. This fact is of great significance in the forthcoming schism in the Spiritual and thus temporal domain of Europe.

Therefore, the people of Montenegro have need in these time to perceive themselves as an ethnic group as defined above. Therefore as 21st century Celts we stand together as Witness. This is not an earthly coalition, but a God given Blessing -- as Covenance! Amen.

The Spirit of The Timeless Celt -- as Warrior

A myth, a dream a story told --

No footprints in the sands of time

To show the way to future bold --

But what care I of old?

The Warrior King and Child of God.

Many have tried, but none have conquered

My Monarchy still reigns

Upon the western strands

Twixt hallowed hills and stormy nights

My wind blows still --

The Hearts to turn from man to God

From love of self to Selfless Love --

From death in life -- to Life in death.

What now of the politic of man?

The endless strife twixt head and hand

To coalesce as man

Is to stand apart from God.

To merge with God is to Be as One --

The Silence of the Knight -- of Dreams.

Thus as I AM; I am The Scabbard of The Lord.

                                                                        Saint Ninian's "Celtic" Church

The Spiritual and Ethical Value of The Church of The Picts to Christendom.  (A learned work with copius source notes)

From chapter 24 of “The Pictish Nation its People and its Church by Archibald .B. Scott (1917). Pages 519 and  520. (copy in Scottish National Library , reference only by membership)

“There is an opinion current among certain historians that the Spiritual and ethical contributions of the Nation and Church of the Picts to mankind and Christendom were completely effaced in the devastating inundations of pagan Viking savagery, or in the octopus-like absorbtions of the Church of Rome. It is true that the organised nation and the organised Church were broken up or absorbed, but the Soul of the Pictish people and the ideals in State and in Church for which it had striven, survived. They were indestructible and immortal. *

Israel ceased to be a kingdom on earth, but its revelation of The Kingdom of God continued, and attracted the affection of the enlightened world. The artists of Greece were succeeded by a race of traders, but the intelligent world saved the ideals of beauty from being vulgarized, and the Soul of the Greece that was, still educates the aesthetic faculties of men. The sceptre of imperial Rome passed into the hands of the barbarians, but the spirit of Roman law still dominates the organized life of Europe.

So, in similar manner after the Pictish sovereignty ended, the people of northern Britain continued to cherish the Pictish passion for freedom, and after the Church of the Picts ceased, there still lingered about the ruins of her walls remembrance of her noble ethics, her devotion to education, her faith in preaching emphasized by example, and her missionary genius which enabled her to colonise without lust of territory or quest for mines or markets, but solely for the extension of The Kingdom of God on earth.

When from time to time a cry arises for a free Church instead of a Church enslaved to power and money and the ideals of the trader, or for a Church which will demand personal Christlikeness in the individual members instead the formal seal of some ecclesiastical authority bestowed or continued without regard to the quality of the member’s life, or for a Church which will be a brotherhood of men and women loving one and other as Christ loved instead of a Church which is a mechanical concourse of groups operated by fear and friction; then is heard the Soul of The British Celt craving to be re-embodied; in order to live and to act amid modern activities, as once it lived and acted in the Brito-Pictish Church.”

* To describe something as having been (was) immortal is self contradictory. Immortality IS, (non emphatic usage) and thus cannot die! Such is The Pictish Church and Celtic Nationhood AS Dalriada and its Church Spiritual. Amen. Please see “The Bride” on this site. Thank you.

The Pictish Church of Ninian pre and post dated the Scotic church of Columba. The former was never Roman, the latter became Roman in Abbot Adamnon's time, about one hundred years after Columba's deaht. This was the outworking of The Synod of Whitby.

These words are stated solely as fact and are not therefore emotive.
